As the Senior Mechanical Technician, you’ll be leading the installation, advanced diagnostics, and preventative maintenance of automated manufacturing equipment. Custom conveyor systems, and industrial robotics within production environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Rig, level, align, and commission heavy automated machinery, conveyors, and robotic work cells according to engineering blueprints and CAD layouts
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues in automation equipment. Resolve complex failures in pneumatic, hydraulic, and servo-driven mechanical systems
- Maintain and adjust end-of-arm tooling, indexers, pneumatic clamps, and automated welding or part-transfer systems on automotive assembly lines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional manufacturing engineers to optimize cycle times, lead root-cause analysis (RCA) on recurring downtimes, and provide technical guidance or mentorship to junior technicians.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: High School diploma or GED, followed by hands-on training or an apprenticeship
- 5+ years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing automated equipment within an automotive, tier-1 supplier, or high-volume manufacturing environment with robotics.
- Strong fluency in reading mechanical blueprints, pneumatic schematics, and basic electrical diagrams.
- Majority MIG welding and onsite stick welding
- Proficiency with precision alignment tools (dial indicators, laser alignment, calipers)
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting abilities, good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Physical & Safety Tasks
All applicants must be able to perform the following tasks as part of their player-coach operational responsibilities:
- Walk up to 5 km per day during manufacturing floor oversight and plant walkthroughs.
- Stand and work at heights or navigate tight operational environments when required.
- React quickly to visual and auditory factory alerts.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety footwear, safety eyewear, vests, and high-visibility gear during site visits.
